Staying safe

Because sharing is initiated by email address, anybody who knows yours could try to send you something. These are the controls for that, and they are all in the app β€” nothing here needs an email to support.

Nothing arrives unasked

A first share from somebody you have never shared with waits for your decision rather than entering your account. Until you accept it, you cannot open it and it is nowhere in your Workspace. Decline removes it.

This is the first line, and it means an unwanted share from a stranger never reaches your lists at all.

Reporting

Any entry shared with you can be reported, from Shared items β†’ Shared with me β†’ Report β€” the sidebar on the web, under Account on mobile.

Pick a reason β€” spam, harassment, sexual content, violence, or something else β€” and add detail. Detail is required when you choose β€œsomething else”, because the reason alone tells us nothing we can act on.

Reports reach our support team. We aim to review them within 24 hours, and we remove content and terminate accounts where our Terms have been breached. Our Terms carry a stated zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users.

Blocking

Blocking is stronger than declining a single share: Shared items β†’ Shared with me β†’ Block, in the same place.

Blocking somebody:

  • stops them sharing anything with you again,
  • stops invitations sent to your email address, so it cannot be worked around by re-inviting you,
  • and removes what they had already shared from your account.

That last point is worth being clear about: it is not reversible from your side. Unblocking restores the ability to share, but it does not bring back the entries that were removed β€” the other person would have to share them again.

Blocking is also symmetric. While a block stands, neither of you can share with the other.

Who you have blocked

Blocked people lists everybody you have blocked, with the option to unblock. It is under Application Settings on the web and under Account on mobile. Nobody is told that they have been blocked, and your own account does not list who may have blocked you.

Reaching a person

Our support contact is published at tidee.com/en/contact and we answer reports sent there as well as ones raised in the app.
