Getting started

tidee is one place for everything you have to do.

Most people’s tasks are scattered. Some are in a notes app, some in the phone’s reminders, some on a shared shopping list, some in a flagged email, some on paper. Nothing lives anywhere in particular, so you spend attention deciding where things go and checking several places to be sure you have not missed something.

tidee holds all of it: work and home, dated and undated, yours alone and shared with other people.

Two things make that workable:

  • Capturing is quick, because a single place only helps if putting something in it is easier than scribbling it elsewhere. It takes seconds by voice or by typing, and asks for nothing but the entry itself.
  • Organizing is a separate job, done later when you have time, rather than a form to fill in the moment you think of something.

The first five minutes

  1. Sign up at app.tidee.com, confirm your email address, and sign in.
  2. Capture something. It does not need to be tidy — “ring the dentist about the thing” is a perfectly good entry.
  3. Look at your Backlog. Everything you capture without a date lands there. It is the pile you review rather than the list you work from.
  4. Give one thing a date. Open the entry and set a target date. It moves into the Prioritized list, grouped by day.
  5. Make a box. “House”, “Work”, “Holiday”. Boxes hold entries and other boxes, so they can be as flat or as nested as suits you.

That is the whole loop. Everything else in tidee makes one of those five steps faster.

Where things live

tidee is the same product on the web and on your phone — the same entries, the same boxes, the same shares. Only the way you move around differs, so the two are listed separately here and wherever else in these pages the route matters.

Next

  • Capturing — voice, typing, and capturing without opening the app at all.
  • Organizing — dates, boxes, the Backlog, and archiving.
  • Sharing — working on something with somebody else.
  • Plans and billing — what is free and what the paid plan adds.
